Project Overview
The Student Service Design Challenge 2023, initiated by Philips Experience Design, tasked student teams globally with designing a service to enhance personal well-being and resilience while contributing to collective happiness. Our team participated to address challenges faced by gig workers in the digital landscape.
Concept
Our service, Wogi, revolutionises the gig worker landscape in the UK. By redefining financial well-being metrics and fostering community, Wogi empowers gig workers. Features like Gigpeeps facilitate networking, while Gigflo provides market insights and financial tools for stability.
Creative Process
Drawing from comprehensive data and insights, our ideation phase utilised tools like mind mapping and Design Sprint methods such as Crazy 8's. We prioritised simplicity and alignment with our problem statement, employing an iterative approach focused on constant improvement.
Problem Statement
In the gig economy, gig workers confront financial stability, community, and career progression issues. Our problem statement addressed these challenges: "How might we design for the subjective financial well-being of gig workers to navigate the gaps in autonomy, community, and career progression?"
